The final round came down to the Lincoln Green Gear Ticks facing the Sharon Black Botz team. It was a very close match, but in the end, the Sharon team was the tournament winner in the field competition. The Sharon "Think Outside the Botz" team made a good showing in their rookie tournament debut, finishing in the second round of the elimination series. Altogether, a great day for the SYRA teams, and all who participated!
Pre-tournament: SYRA runoffs were held on Tuesday 12-04-06 at the Girl Scout House to determine which two Sharon Eagle Robotics team will represent us at the Quincy/Gillette Eastern Massachusetts State FLL tournament to be held Saturday 12-08-07 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. At the tournament, doors will open at 8:00am, with registration from 8:00 to 9:00am. Opening ceremonies are at 9:00am, with both qualifying matches (high score of 3 rounds) and judging sessions from 9:30am to 1:30pm. After a one hour break, the play-offs will run from 1:30 to 2:30pm (top 16, single elimination), followed by awards from 2:30 to 3:30pm. Food (AM coffee, juice & doughnuts; PM hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages) will be available in the cafeteria. At registration, the team should have a participation fee of $40.00, four completed Team Introduction Forms (with team photo attached to each), and FLL Consent Forms for each team member and coach. For teams that are not school-affiliated, a insurance waiver sheet must be submitted with your registration. This is simply a list of all attendees, with their current insurance plans and policy numbers. This year's 2007 tournament competition manual (in .doc format) can be downloaded.
